The Shandrum AC 4 Mile Road Race takes place in Newtown tonight. The race begins at 7:30pm.
The race starts above the church and runners will head off in the direction of Charleville. They will join the main road again and turn left at the two mile cross. They will turn left again at Shandrum graveyard before returning to the village and will finish outside the GAA grounds. Registration and refreshments after will take place in the community hall this year.
Expect extra traffic in the village tonight between 7 and 9pm and some traffic delays at the beginning and finish lines.
